Annual Meeting Minutes

Kendrick Grange

Thursday, January 15, 2015 3:30 p.m.

Executive Board Members Present: Sharon Harris - President, Chris Kowrach Treasurer, and Jan Patterson Secretary

Executive Board Members Absent:  Richard Abrams – vice president

Others Present: Loeda Reil, Mark Mustoe, Marsha Schoeffler and Sam Johnson from the Moscow Daily News.

 1.     Sharon called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.

2.     The minutes of November 20, 2014 meeting were accepted as written.

3.     The treasurer reported that there is a total balance of $13,502.65 in our accounts. Chris also covered 2014 JKHF financial statement this discussion will continue at the Feb. meeting. 

4.     Committee Reports:

a.)   Publications Committee reported on books sold in the last month 2 Southwick books, 6 Kendrick tour book, 1 DVD on Kendrick, and 1 Leland book.

b.)   Sharon reported on our face book usage is around 500 visits per week.

c.)   Kendrick and Juliaetta Newspaper digitization project is finished connected to one grant.  The second grant will complete the project in Aug. 2015.  Chris reported that we have received positive feedback from people that have used the site.

d.)   Web site usage has a 40% daily increase. 

5.     Old Business:

a.)   Sharon will represent JKHF at the KJ&7 meeting this evening, presenting Jamie Britten our celebrated volunteer nomination from Kendrick High School.

b.)   Juliaetta Historical Tour books and DVD’s are finished.  We discussed locations to sell the booklets and DVD’s in Kendrick and Juliaetta.

c.)   JKHF Museum opening date was discussed and it was decided that the opening date for JKHF Museum is Saturday April 24, 2015 from 1 to 4.

6.     New Business:

a.)   Sharon discussed the gift from the Iller family it was decided that we will dedicate one of the rooms upstairs to the family.

b.)   Chris passed out a list of projects for the coming year 2015 for the JKHF. We are to look over the list and discuss what each person’s involvement wish is to be at our next meeting.

c.)   Clearwater Historical Society will come to Kendrick to visit the JKHF Museum on January 29. We hope to discuss with them about working on the tram book.

d.)   Sharon worked on a display case for in the grange to display our many books.

e.)   Mark Mustoe discussed what was happening at the Southwick Community Center. They are planning an “get together “in March. 

7.     Next Meeting: Will be on Thursday Feb. 19, 2015 at 3:30 at the Fraternal Temple.

8.     The meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
